Dallas vice officers are preparing for a tidal wave of prostitues when the NBA All-Star game comes to the Cowboys Stadium in a few months.
"Wherever the money is this is where they're coming," said counselor and former prostitute Karen Green. "When I heard I heard they were putting the Super Bowl here, they were building....I said 'Oh, this is going to be an influx of women coming from all across the country to prostitute.'"
The NBA All-Star game, however, will just be a tuneup for the 2011 Super Bowl at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington. One organization estimated 100,000 prostitutes came to Phoenix's 2008 Super Bowl.
"I could tell you that increase is thousands, I could tell you it's a 100,000. I have no way of measuring that, however, it's a substantial increase," Dallas Police Sgt. Louis Felini said.
Dallas vice officers have been strategizing for the past year to ensure the influxes don't affect policing of the already existing large local prostitute population.
