SAN MARCOS, Texas -- New developments could link several suspects to a San Marcos murder that happened three weeks ago, but the police work is far from over.

On February 3, Arthur Martinez was stabbed at a party at a San Marcos residence. Martinez was taken to a San Marcos hospital where he later died.

Investigators said there were more than 300 people at the house where Martinez was stabbed.

Police arrested and charged Breyln Javon Sorrells with murder, but they say they may charge others connected to the case.

"We do anticipate additional charges to be filed either today or tomorrow regarding aggravated assault with a deadly weapon," said Penny Dunn of the San Marcos Police Department.

In their warrant, police also mentioned a woman who is a softball player for Texas State. She reportedly lives in the house where Martinez was stabbed.

A source close to the school says the girl was suspended for violating team rules.

Investigators believe others at the party tried to cover up some of the evidence.

"During the altercation, inside the party, there were multiple people that were involved," said Dunn.  "The statements and information that we have at this time is that the only person that had a weapon and using a weapon was Breyln Sorrells."

Sorrells, a former star high school football player from Austin, is now sitting behind bars.

According to an arrest affidavit, police may also charge the Texas State softball player for lying to them and trying to hide evidence.
