HUFFMAN, Texas -- A Houston-area man charged with child sex abuse has also been charged for allegedly pulling a gun on a television journalist reporting on the allegations.

The Harris County Sheriff's Office on Monday said Larry Ricketts, 73, of Huffman is charged with aggravated assault after the KTRK crew captured the gun incident on camera. Nobody was hurt.

A reporter knocked on the suspect's front door. After opening it, Ricketts saw the news camera and quickly grabbed a handgun and yelled for the journalists to leave, the sheriff's office said.

Investigators say Ricketts was charged earlier last week with aggravated sexual abuse of a five-year-old girl and was released on bail.

He's now back in jail without bond on the weapons charge. Online jail records don't list information for his attorney.
