SAN ANTONIO -- A west-side church building was fully engulfed in flames by the time fire crew arrived on scene around 7 a.m. Thursday, according to the San Antonio Fire Department.

The fire broke out at a church storage building in the 300 block of Remolino St., near S. General McMullen Drive and Castroville Road.

Firefighters said the building, owned by Cornitos Baptist Church, was completely destroyed in the blaze and would need to be demolished as a safety precaution.

Arson investigators were called to the scene to look for evidence of foul play, since no electricity was available inside the building, according to SAFD
