HOUSTON – Police said an officer’s arm became pinned in an opening gate Thursday night, and two responding officers then crashed into the same fence.

It all happened around 10 p.m. on Bankside at Bob White, according to the Houston Police Department.

Police said a female HPD officer was responding to a call at an apartment complex and was using the 911 box to open the gate. Somehow her arm became pinned between the moving gate and the fence, injuring her.

Two responding officers, both female, then crashed their patrol car into the fence.

The trapped officer was finally freed and sent to the hospital with severe lacerations to her arm. The two officers in the wrecked patrol car were not hurt, said HPD.
