FORT HOOD, Texas -- Army officials say convicted mass murder and form Maj. Nidal Hasan has now been transferred to Fort Leavenworth’s United States Disciplinary Barracks.
Hasan was sentenced to death on August, 28 after a jury found him guilty in just two hours during the sentencing phase of his Fort Hood trial.
The jury also rendered a forfeiture of Hasan’s pay and allowances. He was also dishonorably discharged.
Because he was sentenced to death military law requires an automatic appeal in the U.S. Army Criminal Court of Appeals. It will then move to the United States court of Appeals for the Armed Forces.
