AUSTIN -- While Governor Rick Perry greeted President Obama at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport when he landed on Thursday, he also left the president a message in Thursday's Austin American-Statesman.
In a letter to the president, Governor Perry cited low taxes and balanced budgets as reasons why the Texas economy is one of the best in the nation.
Gov. Perry also addressed job growth, saying, "Because your visit is focused on the economy, we'd like to share how we're creating jobs and opportunity in Texas."
Perry finished the letter saying, "Mr. President, the Texas success story can be the American success story."
