SAN ANTONIO -- Captain Oscar Knight was a decorated hero of the Korean conflict and the Vietnam war but after his death, his medals mysteriously disappeared.

Ever since the medals vanished, his family has been searching for a way to honor his memory.

On Monday, with the help of Congressman Lloyd Doggett and the U.S. Army, Captain Knight's daughter finally received good news.

"My dad was such a great American." said Tuesdae Knight  "He did two tours, served his country well and was so proud of it."

During a ceremony at the San Antonio Chamber of Commerce, Tuesdae was presented with new copies of her father's medals.

"His favorite thing was America and honoring our country," said Tuesdae.  "I think this is a great way to honor him."

The new copies included the Bronze Star, Army commendation medals and the National Defense Service Award.
