The Texas Department of Public Safety says it's been a record year for marijuana seizures.
So far, agents have confiscated nearly 62,000 plants -- compared to 36,000 in 2008 and 40,000 in 2007.
According to DPS officials, much of the marijuana is being grown near camps in wooded areas of north and East Texas.
The largest operations can grow 10,000 plants or more and feature sophisticated irrigation systems.
Investigators think some of the increase is due to Mexican drug cartels moving their growing operations into Texas.

Great job DPS. Brag about busting a harmless drug (and no I don't use) when real drugs like meth that take effort to bust gain momentum.

It should be legalized. Then the street value will fall as will the violent crimes associated with it. It's no different than prohibition in the 1920's. And we know how that turned out.
