CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas -- A Corpus Christi district judge has been found dead in his chambers.
Police confirm State District Judge Tom Greenwell was found dead Monday night around 7:00 p.m. He had been shot in the head.
Investigators were first called to the scene to search for an active shooter but minutes later workers were told to leave the building.
Greenwell graduated from the UT School of Law in 1981 and was serving his third-term in Nueces County.
He was the first Republican ever elected there in 2001.
