AUSTIN -- Some tax deadline relief is on the way for residents in West.

Texas Comptroller Susan Combs will grant extensions for all state taxes due this week for businesses in the town. The extension is good for 90 days and will allow business owners to concentrate on the recovery efforts instead of tax deadlines.

The extension covers sales and use tax, hotel tax and franchise tax filings.

The comptroller also reminded everyone that certain recovery expenses are tax exempt, including all labor for restoring homes and businesses, tree trimming and tree hauling, as well as any expenses that relate to restoring damaged property.

All businesses must call in to the Comptroller's Office to get the tax extension. Late fees will not be charged to those businesses that receive the tax deadline relief.
