THE WOODLANDS, Texas—A car flew into the roof of a building early Wednesday morning, blocking one of just three ways to get into and out of The Woodlands and killing the driver.

It happened on the North Freeway feeder near Woodlands Parkway around 12:30 a.m.

State troopers said 22-year-old Shawn Michael FInley was traveling at a high rate of speed down the feeder road when he hit a curb and went airborne.

The car crashed into the side of a personal training business.

The velocity of the car was so great, it rolled several times on impact, coming to a rest at the very top of the roof.

It took paramedics hours to get to Finley, who died at the scene.

An officer said Finley’s father works for the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department.

Investigators were working to determine if alcohol was a factor.

They shut down the entire southbound feeder road while they cleared the accident.
