A bankruptcy judge has approved a merger between American Airlines and US Airways, calling it a "terrific result." The judge did not approve a $20 million severance package for outgoing American CEO Tom Horton. The merger still needs approval from antitrust regulators and US Airways shareholders, and is is expected to close by the fall.
Comerica's Texas economic activity fell slightly in January which was the first decline since August. Comerica says exports, sales tax revenues and the drilling rig count dipped in January.
JCPenney is doing another flip flop on their strategy and is now raising prices. One Wall Street analyst tells us that Plano-based JCPenney will not get rid of its 'everyday low price' strategy. Instead the company is raising prices on clothing and will then offer more sales and discounts as the company tries to find a way to lure back shoppers.

How long do you wait to see the doctor? According to a vitals report, the shortest average wait time for doctors increased to more than 16 minutes last year. But El Paso has one of the longest waiting times in the country with an average of 29 minutes. Austin has one of the shortest waits with 17 minutes.
