HOUSTON -- An Amber Alert has been issued for two-year-old Alizae Mata who was last seen Wednesday morning.

Family members Alizae had their hopes crushed Thursday evening after rushing to Memorial Hermann Hospital where they thought they'd be reunited with her.

They walked all over the hospital but didn't find any sign of Alizae or the woman who  has her.

Alizae's mother last saw her around 10:30 a.m. Wednesday when she allowed her to leave with Jessenia Saldana, her uncle's girlfriend.

Relatives believe it was Jessenia who called them Thursday evening. They say they could hear Alizae in the background.

Police are looking at surveillance video from Memorial Hermann to determine if they had actually been there.

Alizae, her mother and her uncle all live together in the 5500 block of Antoine.

Saldana told Alizae’s mother she was just going out to run some errands and to pick up clothes from a friend, but the two haven’t been seen since.

Saldana does not have a phone or car and travels by bus.
