HARRIS COUNTY, Texas -– Armed men forced their way into a north Harris County home early Tuesday and tied up the family inside, deputies said.
The home invasion was reported in the 8500 block of Karen Street, according to deputies with the Harris County Sheriff's Office.
A man and woman said men wearing bandanas came into the home and tied them up. The couple’s children, ages 3, 6, and 7, were forced out of bed and told to get on the floor.
The family, which owns an auto business, said the men searched for money before forcing them to sign over the title to a Chevrolet Avalanche. The suspects then fled the scene in the stolen pickup.
No injuries were reported.
At least part of the crime was caught on surveillance cameras, the family said, but a detailed description of the men was not available. Video from outside the home showed the robbers kicking in a door to get into the home.
It was initially believed the family's pit bull was stolen as well, but the dog was later found in the neighborhood.
