NEAR ALEDO -- A Union Pacific train derailed early Thursday morning east of Aledo, authorities confirmed.
As many as seven cars went off the tracks as the train traveled into Tarrant County on its way from Tucson, Ariz. to Dallas, according to a Union Pacific representative.
One train crew member suffered injuries and was taken to an area hospital. His condition wasn't known.
Only one of the derailed cars was carrying cargo. It was full of cement. The others were empty, Union-Pacific said.
The cause of the train derailment is under investigation.
