DALLAS -- A four-alarm fire that broke out early Monday morning at a Dallas apartment complex destroyed 20 units and displaced 39 residents, according to a statement released by Dallas Fire-Rescue.

Authorities were first alerted to the blaze at the Hunter's Court Apartments, located in the 8500 block of Spring Valley Rd., at about 4:55 a.m. Firefighters arrived to the scene to find the fire quickly spreading after it made its way into the attic area of the building, said Jason Evans, a spokesman with Dallas Fire-Rescue.

About 72 firefighters worked together to get the blaze under control.

One female resident was transported to an area hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation. A firefighter was also treated for smoke inhalation at the scene.
