HOUSTON, Texas — The debt ridden U.S. Postal Service has signed a licensing agreement with a fashion apparel company to launch a new line of apparel and accessories.
The “Rain Heat & Snow brand will hit the market in 2014, according to the Washington Post.
It will include jackets, head gear and footwear.
“This agreement will put the Postal Service on the cutting edge of functional fashion,” said Postal Service Corporate Licensing Manager Steven Mills via a news release. “The main focus will be to produce Rain Heat & Snow apparel and accessories using technology to create ‘smart apparel’ — also known as wearable electronics.”
The U.S. Postal Service has raised the price of stamps and will soon stop delivering on Saturdays in an effort to become profitable.
