HOUSTON —- A pair of home invasion suspects opened fire on a southwest Houston woman through her front door late Wednesday, striking her in the leg twice, police said.
According to the Houston Police Department, the shooting occurred at a home on Vendi Drive at Abruzzo Drive around midnight.
Police said two men knocked in the front door of a 60-year-old woman. When she answered, they tried to force their way into her home. Police said the woman managed to get the door shut, and she then engaged her home’s alarm system.
That’s when one of the two suspects, still on the front porch, pulled out a gun and fired two shots through the front door. The woman was sent to the hospital in stable condition.
The suspects, description unknown, managed to get away.
