Former President George H.W. Bush may be released from a Houston hospital within days.
During an appearance in Florida on Saturday, Jeb Bush said his 88-year-old father would get out on Monday.
But a spokesman for the senior Bush would say only the family is hopeful that the former president will be discharged this coming week, and they are still taking it one day at a time.
The spokesman said other Bush family members speak for themselves.
The former president has been hospitalized since November 23 for treatment of a bronchitis-related cough.
