SAN ANTONIO -- A man involved in an accident early Saturday morning along I-10 East near Crossroads has died.
Balcones Heights police have not released his identity.
According to police, the man stopped to help injured motorists around 3 a.m. He and one of the motorists involved in the initial accident then fell between 40-65 feet after a second car accident took place in the same area.
“The tragedy in all of this is this was a Good Samaritan on his way home from work who stopped to help,” said Balcones Heights Police Chief Henry Dominguez.
The second victim remains in critical condition at University Hospital.
Police are still investigating whether the two men jumped off the overpass to avoid an oncoming car or were knocked off the overpass by an oncoming car.
No charges have been filed, but Balcones Heights Police are awaiting toxicology results taken from more than one driver involved in the accidents.
