AUSTIN -- St. David's Episcopal Church is set to unveil the largest solar panel project in downtown Austin.

St. David's will unveil the project at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 3 at 301 East Eighth Street.

The project will allow St. David's to use solar panels on the top level of the church's garage for 75 percent of its energy on low-peak days. Eighteen percent of the church's energy per year will come from these solar panels.

A new program from Austin Energy and Meridian Solar helped St. David's receive federal rebates, low interest rates and new technology to construct the project.
