AUSTIN -- Heavy rains throughout Central Texas flooded the area and caused the cancellation of Sunday’s Austin City Limits Music Festival.

The promoter for ACL, C3 Productions, issued a statement on their website Sunday saying, “Due to current weather conditions with flash flood warnings, The Austin City Limits Music Festival organizers have canceled the festival for Sunday, October 13.”

LCRA announced floodgate operations at the Tom Miller Dam on Sunday morning that were completed early Sunday afternoon. However, LCRA officials still warned those near flooded areas to take caution and to avoid swiftly moving water in the area.

Austin Parks and Recreation announced that Barton Springs Pool is also temporarily closed until further notice, according to a press release.

Road closures throughout Central Texas are continuing throughout the day Sunday. For a list of road closures in Hays County, visit their emergency information website. AFD, EMS, Starflight and police combined responded to 11 water rescues overnight and two more water rescues in Manor today. AFD received 90 weather-related calls since last night.
