AUSTIN -- There was an early Thanksgiving celebration for some kids and their new feathered friends Tuesday morning.

Tom and Tina Turkey paid a visit to Stepping Stone School in North Austin.

The four and five year olds had a chance to talk to the birds in their own language and try to get them to holler back with a "gobble gobble" of their own.

There was music and people dressed in traditional Thanksgiving garb, and turkey costumes of course.

The turkey call contest was part of the upcoming Thundercloud Turkey Trot benefiting Caritas of Austin. Click here for more information about the Turkey Trot.
