NORFOLK, Virginia -- It's homecoming day for USS Barry.

The Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer has been gone from Norfolk for nine months on a Ballistic Missile Defense mission in the 6th Fleet.

The crew's first mission in the eastern Mediterranean Sea was NATO exercise Proud Manta 2013, the largest multi-national anti-submarine warfare exercise in the world.

After completing several exercises, USS Barry steamed to the Eastern Mediterranean to conduct her primary BMD mission and participated in Tomahawk training scenarios.
