AUSTIN -- A federal judge will hear arguments next Wednesday on a lawsuit to stop Travis County Proposition One which voters passed earlier this week.
The proposition calls for a tax increase to finance a new medical school and training hospital at University of Texas.
The Travis County Taxpayers Union Political Action Committee has asked a federal judge to stop Central Health from certifying Tuesday's vote.
Our exclusive partners at the Austin-American Statesman reported that the taxpayers union contends the ballot language violated the federal Voting Rights Act.
It said the language on the ballot was confusing and included wording that amounted to advocacy.
