The first woman elected to represent Texas in the U.S. Senate is retiring. Kay Bailey Hutchison is returning to the private sector.
Texas elected her to the U.S. Senate in a special election in 1993. On Dec. 19 Hutchison gave an emotional goodbye on the Senate floor.
