BAY ST. LOUIS, Miss. (AP) — Husband-and-wife political commentators James Carville and Mary Matalin have bought property in Bay St. Louis and plan to build a getaway home there.

Carville told The Mississippi Business Journal (http://bit.ly/Qatzw1 ) that the property is just a 55 minute drive from their home in New Orleans.

A Louisiana native, Carville said he has liked the Mississippi Gulf Coast area since his childhood, when his family would vacation in Biloxi. The property formerly belonged to New Orleans clarinetist Pete Fountain. Carville said he and Matalin are excited to be a part of the Bay St. Louis community as it continues to rebuild after Hurricane Katrina.
