CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A new debate is making the rounds on social media, thanks to a plus-sized modeling company.

Plus Size Modeling posted a photo on their Facebook page with the question "Should toy companies start making Plus Sized Barbie dolls?"

At the time this article was written, the Facebook post had been liked more than 40,000 times, shared more than 2500 and had nearly 5000 comments.

Given the photo's directions to "Like" if you think "yes", or "comment" if you think it's a bad idea, it seems the Facebook community has spoken out in support of the idea.

Back in May, retailer H&M made a splash by using a size 12 model to front their 2013 Swimsuit Collection.

On the flipside of that coin, the CEO of Abercrombie and Fitch came out saying he didn't want "larger customers" in his stores.

The average woman in America wears a size 12 to 14, with size 14 widely considered to be "plus size".
