AUSTIN - The countdown has begun for many Austinites' favorite time of year: The Austin City Limits Music Festival. And as festival goers spend the next couple of weeks weaving their flower crowns and getting their CamelBaks ready, crews have closed off the Great Lawn of Zilker Park Monday.
The lawn will remain closed until Oct. 21, well after the second weekend of ACL. The section of Zilker Park highlighted in red below indicates the closed-off part. The green section across Barton Springs Road indicates the rest of the park, which is open to the public.
To celebrate the 15-year anniversary of ACL, organizers are making a few upgrades. Possibly the best of which can be expressed in two words: Flushable toilets. Go here to discover other upgrades.
If you still don't have a ticket, go here for more information on how to purchase one. Weekend one of ACL is Sept. 30 through Oct. 2 and weekend two is Oct. 7 through Oct. 9.
