WilCo justice of the peace entering race for next county judge

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, TEXAS - A Williamson County justice of the peace is entering the race to be the next county judge.

Judge Bill Gravell made the announcement Saturday surrounded by supporters including Williamson County Sheriff Robert Chody and Georgetown Mayor Dale Ross. Gravell will face Round Rock City Council Member Frank Leffingwell in the March 6 Republican primary election.

The campaign kicked off at the Georgetown 37th annual Christmas Stroll.

Gravell said he is a true fiscal conservative who would fight to decrease taxes and work to keep the values of Williamson County families.

"Protect our community from that foreign country on the south that's encroaching this way," Gravell said. "And by the way, President Trump was right about one thing, we do need a border, but that border needs to be between Williamson County and Travis County."

Gravell's campaign said he will continue serving as justice of the peace while campaigning.
