Taylor ISD superintendent retiring in December

TAYLOR - After six years of serving the Taylor Independent School District , Superintendent Jerry Vaughn announced he would retire at the end of the year.

Tuesday afternoon, school officials confirmed Vaughn sent in his resignation letter notifying faculty and staff.

Deputy Superintendent Richard Kolek has been named as the interim superintendent to carry on Vaughn's duties until they can find a permanent successor. 

School officials could not specify when the school board would begin the process of selecting a replacement, nor could they name a list of possible candidates.

Vaughn's retirement will become effective Dec. 16, 2016.
