Williamson County lifts burn ban

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, TEXAS - Williamson County Judge Dan A. Gattis announced Monday that the burn ban has been lifted in unincorporated areas of the county.

The county urged anyone who engages in outdoor burning activity to be cautious and to do so under state regulations. County officials said prior to conducting controlled burns, residents of the county must take the following steps:

  • Contact your local fire department, as some may require a burn permit.
  • Report your controlled burn to Williamson County Communications at (512) 864-8282. They should be able to inform you of any burning restrictions that may exist.

The burn ban was previously issued for Williamson County on Aug. 22 and was slated to last 90 days.
