Former KVUE News reporter Ed Lavandera was shoved the ground Wednesday night by a demonstrator while covering the ongoing Charlotte, North Carolina protests for his current employer, CNN.
The protests are in response to the fatal police shooting of Keith Lamont Scott, 43. When Lavandera got up off the ground, CNN anchor Anderson Cooper asked if he was okay.
"We're fine," Lavandera said. "Someone is just taking their frustration out on me."
Lavandera later said the person who shoved him apologized and gave him a hug.
