AUSTIN -- A woman run over by a Capital Metro bus in North Austin is now in stable condition. Friends said Amanda Dewey is recovering and improving one week after she was hit.

Witnesses said she was near a cross walk when suddenly she became pinned under the bus.

A surveillance video from Monday's accident showed when Dewey was hit by the bus. It showed the bus slowly turning at Braker Lane and Jollyville Road in Northwest Austin.

The video does not give a view through the windshield, but passengers can be seen jumping from their seats.

"I have so many questions -- when is she coming home," neighbor Heather Rudd said. "What can we, as neighbors, do to help? We don't want her to go through this alone. I know she has a lot of family out of town."

"She's strong, really dedicated woman," neighbor Ernest Uranga said. "She's smart. You can tell it in her, she's a really great lady."

No one was ticketed at the scene.

Last week, KVUE requested the police report and the accident report. We're still waiting for Austin police to release those documents.
