TxDOT to work on local bridges, roads

AUSTIN -- The Texas Department of Transportation has awarded more than $8.1 million in contracts to the Austin district for projects in Blanco, Caldwell, Hays, Llano and Williamson counties.

The projects will replace bridges and expand roads in the area.

Notable projects include a $4.4 million project to add a center turn lane and paved shoulders on RM 967 between Cole Spring Road and RM 1826 in Hays County, and a $1.3 million project will replace the US 290 bridge over Rocky Creek in Blanco County.

Other projects include replacement of the Hays County Road 266 bridge over the San Marcos River, rebuilding the Oak Grove Bridge over the West Fork of Plum Creek in Caldwell County, replacing the bridge on Llano County Road 216 and a guardrail and safety project on SH 95 in Williamson County between US 79 in Taylor and the Travis County line.
