Two La Grange nursing homes evacuated as flood waters rise

Residents at two assisting living places in La Grange Texas were evacuated early Monday morning as waters began to rise after this weekend's heavy rains.

The Fayette County Sheriff's Office confirmed Care Inn of La Grange and Jefferson Place Assisted Living, both located within a mile of the Colorado River, were impacted by flooding.

Debbie Bosky, an administrator at Jefferson Place, said all 38 residents were taken to St. Paul's Lutheran Church in La Grange for temporary shelter.

Representatives of Care Inn said their building was completely evacuated but could not confirm how many people were moved.

This is a developing news story. This page will update as more information becomes available.
