Trail of Lights closed again due to rainfall

AUSTIN - Due to the heavy amount of rainfall over Zilker Park Dec. 19, the Tail of Lights will be closed for the day.

This comes after the Trail of Lights was closed the previous weekend due to heavy rainfall and soggy conditions the following day.

Trail of Lights announced on their Facebook page that Austin's recent rainfall has increased the amount of standing water on the grounds that are important to the Trail of Light's operation and that closing it for the night will protect event goers.

Ticket buyers who purchases shuttle, GA or ZIP passes for Dec. 17, 18 or 19 may use those tickets on any open night of Trail of Lights at no extra cost. Platinum and parking tickets must be exchanged to another evening. Event goers must submit their exchange requests no later than 5 p.m. on the day that they'd like to attend.

Email rain cancellation ticket exchange requests to exchanges@austintrailoflights.org.

For all other questions or requests, email ticketing@austintrailoflights.org.
