Power restored near Four Points after fire at electric substation

AUSTIN - The  Austin Fire Department responded to an electrical fire at an Austin Energy substation near Four Points Centre in West Austin Wednesday night.

According to AFD, crews responded to the area in the 7013 block of River Place just after 8:15 p.m.

Over 3,000 people were without power at its peak, according to Austin Energy.

The electric company tweeted they were sending responders to help fix the problem.

Just after 9 p.m., Austin Energy said all power had been restored and they believed the cause was a failed conductor at the substation.
