BUDA, TEXAS - Deep Eddy Vodka distillery is relocating its production facility from Dripping Springs over 20 miles east to Buda in 2017.
The City of Buda announced Tuesday they've been in talks with Deep Eddy's parent company Heaven Hill to keep the distillery in Hays County, while also finding them a larger facility for expansion purposes.
Officials said their new building, located in the 100 block of Precision Drive, is more than 194,000 square feet and sits on 15 plus acres of land.
Heaven Hill said they plan to keep the tasting room at its current location while only relocating the production operations to Buda. They will also not eliminate any of the existing jobs at the Dripping Springs facility, but they will be adding 20 more positions over the next 10 years.
The city said it estimates the facility without a tasting room will make nearly $700,000 in tax revenue over 10 years for the City of Buda.
Heaven Hill said they will start renovations on the Buda facility later this year, but expect full production to begin in 2017.
