AUSTIN - A teenager was airlifted from West Ridge Middle School Tuesday afternoon with potentially serious injuries, according to Austin-Travis County EMS.
ATCEMS said they were called at 3:58 p.m. to the school, located at 9201 Scenic Bluff Drive. StarFlight transported the teen to Dell Children's hospital.
Claudia McWhorter, spokesperson for Eanes ISD, said that the student is an eighth-grader and he was injured during football practice. She said he was airlifted "out of an abundance of caution" and because of traffic.
McWhorter said that the teenager's mother is with him and he was conscious and his vital signs looked good.
