San Marcos police seize marijuana, cash

A routine traffic stop in San Marcos ended with officers confiscating two pounds of marijuana and $15,232 in cash.
San Marcos police say Manuel Rodriguez, a 21 year old Houston man, was pulled over for running a stop sign in the northwest part of the city on Friday night.

During the stop, the officers noted a strong smell of marijuana in the car. After calling out a K9 unit, the drugs and money were found inside two backpacks.
Rodriguez was charged with possession of marijuana under 5 pounds, which is a felony. He was released after posting a $15,000 bond.
