The City of Austin unveiled "Guitartown," a public arts project, Monday.
The guitars will start going up Tuesday and will then be displayed for several months.
The public arts project, dubbed “Guitartown”, features 35 guitars - each standing 10 feet tall.
They were all designed and detailed by Texas artists.
The locations of the guitars have not been all been chosen just yet, but Towne Lake, Congress Avenue and Antone's are just a few of the sites.
“This is just another visual confirmation that this is the live music capitol of the world,” guitar artist Amanda Dunbar said. “And not only does Austin embrace their musicians, but visual artists.”
The guitars will be in place until next fall. They will then be sold off to raise money for charity.
