Carole Keeton Strayhorn has reportedly taken the first step towards running for mayor of Austin.
The Quorum Report says the former state comptroller has filed paperwork and designated a treasurer for her campaign.
Strayhorn discussed the poosibility with KVUE back in May.
“Thirty-two years ago I was the first woman mayor of Austin and the youngest mayor of a major city, and 32-years later, as I said, if successful, and if I did it, I could say, ‘I'm the second woman mayor of Austin’,” said Strayhorn.
Strayhorn has been a Democratic mayor, a Republican state comptroller and an independent candidate for governor during her political career.
