Georgetown police say a woman stopped a man who tried to abduct her Wednesday.

It happened in the 1100 block of E. 13 Street at around 8 p.m. The woman told police a man in an SUV tried to pull her into the vehicle. The woman was able to escape, and the man sped off.

The suspect is described as a black man around the age of 40. He is around 6'0" tall and weighs around 300 pounds. The man also has an acne-scarred face. He was wearing a blue baseball cap with a red "A" on the front.

Police said he was driving a black SUV that was similar to a Range Rover.

The woman was not injured.

It's the second attempted abduction that has been reported in Georgetown this month. The other happened on October 6.

The suspect in this case does not match the description of the suspect in the earlier abduction case.

If you have any information about this crime, call the Georgetown Police Department at (512) 930-3510.
