Boil water notice issued for southern Travis County

12:24 PM CDT on Monday, October 8, 2007

KVUE.com

Residents in several Travis county neighborhoods were asked to boil their water as a safety precaution Sunday night.

LCRA says a water main break in south Travis county caused a loss of pressure to neighborhoods and streets in the following areas: Zyle Rd., FM 1826, Appaloosa Run, Fox Run, Hills of Texas, Hills of Texas Estates, Overlook of the Hills of Texas, Bear Creek, Bear Creek Estates, Kit Carson Rd., Barsana Dahm, Friendship Ranch, Nutty Brown Rd., Signal Hill Rd. and Signal Hill View.

The break was expected to be repaired by midnight, but LCRA officials must run tests before lifting the boil notice. Since those tests can take up to 24 hours, they ask that affected residents boil their drinking water until told otherwise.

No word on what caused the line break.
