| Recommended Hays County deputy hit on bike dies

A Hays County sheriff's deputy has died after being hit by a pickup truck in August.
Fernando Amaya was riding to work on a bicycle in Kyle when he was hit.
He died Thursday in the intensive care unit at Brackenridge Hospital.
An account for Amaya's medical bills has been set up at the American National Bank in San Marcos.
