Austin police say they have arrested a man accused in a series of condo scams.

Francisco David Garza is charged with theft in connection with a series of scam cases since July 26.

According to an arrest affidavit, Garza posted advertisements for several different condos in the UT area, then showed the properties to people who showed interest in the condos.

Police say he had a key to each condo and agreed to sublet the properties to the victims for $500.

In each case, the victim later found out that the sublet was a hoax, after they had handed over their cash.
