08:46 PM CDT on Thursday, August 21, 2008
The so-called “Ponytail Bandit” pleaded guilty Thursday to robbing banks in three states, including some in her hometown of Austin.
Morgan Michelle Hoke, 21, admitted to robbing banks in Austin, Roseville, California, and Lynnwood, Washington last year. Hoke pled guilty in federal court in Sacramento, California.
Hoke got the nickname from the surveillance photos showing her wearing a UT baseball cap with her ponytail hanging down her back.
Hoke could get up to 20 years in prison for each of the three counts when she is sentenced on October 30th.
