The City of Austin Friday extended a boating ban on parts of Lady Bird Lake -- formerly known as Town Lake -- and Lake Austin.

The ban on Lake Austin from Oyster Landing to Tom Miller Dam and the ban on Lady Bird Lake from Tom Miller Dam to Red Bud Trail was set to expire at noon Friday.

It's now been extended until at least noon on Tuesday because of flooding earlier this summer.

Lake Travis and all other area lakes have reopened.
